The birth of a passion

The birth of a passion tells the fascinating historical process that makes up the origins of football, while at the same time revealing its most distant, unknown history.
There is much archaeological evidence that shows that games similar to football in its present form have been played throughout history by very diverse cultures and in different parts of the world since 3 B.C., but only a few bear any direct relation to the game.
Through dramatisation and historical reconstruction, the film revives both the ancestral games which gave rise to football and other games which, although similar, have been long since forgotten.
